The SAHO and HSAS bargaining committees met June 9 - 12 and again on June 22 & 23, 2026, to continue collective bargaining negotiations.

These sessions were constructive and collaborative, with the parties making meaningful progress on several important issues. Agreements were reached on multiple provisions within Article 15 – Hours of Work, Article 20.01 – Professional/Licensing Fees, Article 21 – Classifications and Vacancies and Article 6 – Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. Both HSAS and SAHO are particularly proud of the work completed for Article 6, which reflects a shared commitment to advancing the Calls to Action from the Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

The parties also exchanged proposals and had productive discussions on the remaining outstanding non-monetary items, including provisions related to Hours of Work, Classifications and Vacancies, Allocation of Additional Work, and Voluntary Reduction of Hours.

These sessions built on the significant progress achieved throughout the bargaining process. Continued review and discussion of the remaining proposals helped further clarify priorities, assess operational considerations, and narrow areas requiring additional dialogue. With only a limited number of non-monetary matters remaining, the parties are approaching  discussions on deferred items and monetary proposals.

SAHO is encouraged by the continued momentum at the bargaining table and the focused approach demonstrated by both parties throughout this round of negotiations. SAHO remains committed to reaching a balanced collective agreement that supports employees while ensuring the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of Saskatchewan's healthcare system for the patients and communities it serves.

The next bargaining session is scheduled for August 10 - 14, 2026, in Saskatoon.
