SAHO/HSAS Bargaining Update, October 8, 2026

Meeting Dates: September 10 and 11, September 22, 23 and 24, October 1 and 2, 2026
Next Dates: October 14, 15 and 16, 2026
SAHO appreciates the progress made during the most recent bargaining sessions. Movement by both parties has brought negotiations closer to agreement, including SAHO withdrawing four proposals and HSAS withdrawing one. There is an intention to transition to monetary discussions in the near future.
Agreements Reached
- Letter of Understanding #14 - Special Provisions for Retention and Recruitment
- Article 23.07 - Post-Trauma Support
- Article 11.14 - Compassionate Care Leave
- Article 21.05 - Commencement of Job
- Article 21.01 - Classifications
- Article 15 - Hours of Work
Two areas where discussions occurred were Article 21, Classifications and Vacancies, specifically around job postings and the classification process within HSAS, and Article 20.04, Reporting to Professional Associations.
Next Steps
With only a limited number of non-monetary matters remaining, the parties are continuing to work toward resolving these outstanding issues. SAHO is prepared to move forward to discussions on deferred items and monetary proposals and remains focused on resolving the limited number of outstanding non-monetary matters so that bargaining can progress to the next phase.
SAHO remains committed to reaching a balanced collective agreement that supports employees while ensuring the long-term sustainability, flexibility and effectiveness of Saskatchewan’s healthcare system for the patients and communities it serves.
