HSAS Bargaining Update - June 26-27, 2014

27-Jun-2014

SAHO and Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) met June 26-27, 2014, with a mediator in attendance after an impasse had been declared by the union under the Saskatchewan Employment Act.

SAHO and Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) met June 26-27, 2014, with a mediator in attendance after an impasse had been declared by the union under the Saskatchewan Employment Act.

SAHO presented a proposal that offered an additional increase to wages. Premiums and differentials were also presented that were equal to those achieved at the provider bargaining tables.

HSAS responded with a package that presented a modified wage proposal, while the balance of the proposal remained the same.

In an effort to narrow the focus, SAHO put forward a second proposal that requested HSAS withdraw three proposals in exchange for SAHO’s agreement to a modified version of HSAS’ “Retro Eligibility” and “Specialty Transport” proposals. In addition, SAHO would withdraw two call back proposals.

HSAS declined to provide a counter proposal. SAHO asked that HSAS reconsider, to which the union indicated that they would advise the outcome of the reconsideration. The mediator remains assigned to the negotiations.
